It’s Over! Everyone Had a Great Time
FROM THE COMMENTS WE’VE HEARD,
INTEREST IN A BIGGER REUNION IN 2016 IS VERY STRONG!
The 2015 DePollo Family Reunion occurred July 17th, 18th & 19th, 2015 in Thomas, West Virginia. The Reunion was held concurrent with the 100 year anniversary of the the DePollo Store Building. Jospeh DePollo the family patriarch, originally opened a smaller store in 1903 then the existing building was completed in 1915. The building had sold twice since the deaths of John and Elsie DePollo. John was one of Joseph DePollo’s 6 sons. John operated the store from 1940 until his own death in 1994. The building sold and was operated as a gift and souvenir shop for a couple years. That venture failed and the building sold a second time to John Bright, who operates it as a cafe and musical entertainment venue called the ‘Purple Fiddle’.
As part of the 100 year Anniversary celebration, the DePollo brothers, John (II) and Joseph DePollo (II), gave an afternoon organ concert on the stage of the Purple Fiddle on Saturday July 18th.
